3. Reading: How We Communicate
Communication is one of the most important human skills. We communicate in many ways — not just through words. Research shows that over 55% of communication is through body language, 38% through tone of voice, and only 7% through the actual words we use.
Today, digital communication has changed how we interact. Our teacher said that "communication skills were more important than ever." She told us that social media had created new ways to express ourselves, but that face-to-face communication was still the most powerful.
Gestures can mean different things in different cultures. A thumbs-up is positive in most Western countries, but it can be offensive in some Middle Eastern cultures. Understanding these differences helps avoid misunderstandings and builds better relationships.
